I had a wonderful time over Christmas last December! 🥰🥰 Ok I know it’s 2 months past December already but hey, life got the better of me 😅 Anw it’s high time for me to revive this space since I just renewed this domain space it’s been awhile and I’m stuck in bed recovering from the effects of the booster jab…

‘Tis the season to be jolly
Kickstarted the festive season with a staycation with the GZBs at The Clan Hotel Singapore for a full-fledged 24 hour stay over the weekend leading up to Christmas. I had just completed a project milestone less than 2 hours before we were checking-in to the hotel so I was looking forward to the 1 hour free-flow at the bar to give myself a good pat on the back 🥂 (P.S. I’m not sure if this is available as part of the standard package for guests). Bar bites were good, not so for the drinks but since it was complimentary I wasn’t complaining 😝
We managed to fully utilise our time there, from ordering food in from the nearby vicinity, using the pool at 7.30am cos there were no slots (WTFFFFF), doing our annual gift exchange in the room (thank you for the presents GZBs 🎁) and then checking out the next evening at 6pm.

Of course I didn’t forget my partner in crime Carol during this holiday period 🤩 Funnily enough, I hadn’t seen her in more than month (which is very long by our standards since we clingy af ah LOL) since our staycation at Sofitel Sentosa in early Nov.
Had a blast drinking atas af coffee and food at Singapore Coffee, exchanging Christmas gifts (which we both pre-selected cos… I rather get her something she wants la tbh!) before we headed to watch Spiderman: No Way Home.
Speaking of Spiderman: No Way Home - did anyone manage to relive their childhood like I did during the movie 🥺🥺🥺 I would peg this as one of the best Marvel movies I’ve watched so far because of the entire plot + weaving of the alternate universe characters into a single movie. It makes my Marvel fangirl heart VERY VERY happy 😁 and I’m not much of a Spidey fan to begin with (my fav Marvel character is Capt America).
Everyone was happy with their Secret Santa gifts, children included 😝
It was a very slow week leading up to Christmas work-wise because everyone was probably in holiday mode 🤣 but on Christmas eve, it was the annual Christmas gathering with the Gambit girls + partners at Lirong’s house! Loved how grown up J and K were which made it even more fun for the adults to play with them although I do have to take my hats off to Lirong and YG for having to deal with 2 children on their own + manage the entire household without extra help 😅

In case you’re wondering what are the pics with the Christmas-like “stickers”, I took these pics using my Kodak M35 with a special Christmas film from Handsonfilm after hearing about them from the bff during the staycation. The pictures turned out super cute and in some of them, the “stickers” actually overlaid on human faces which made for a really funny picture 🤣🤣🤣 I do hope they bring it back for Christmas in 2022 or do it for other occasions.
Met up with Carol on one of my off-days after Christmas to go to Jewel as we wanted to shop at Oysho 😆 But alas the shopping gods weren’t in our favour as the store was closed for renovation/relocation till April 2022 #sian Jewel was crowded as heck despite it being a weekday because I suppose everyone was also clearing leave? We just grabbed a late lunch, coffee, took some touristy pics at the indoor waterfall before going on our separate ways.
I gotta say though that Christmas period is really one of my favourite times of the year because I really enjoy meeting all my friends and family to catch up on life and spend good quality time together. But on the other hand, December is also a month where I spend my time reminiscing and reflecting on what I had done in the past year, how I had grown since the last year etc.
In 2021, I realised I hadn’t been very kind to myself. I was very harsh on myself in reaching my own set expectations and didn’t give myself time to rest. I also hadn’t loved myself much, putting others needs/feelings before my own and in turn getting hurt time and time again. So in 2022, I’m on a journey to be kinder to myself and hope to love myself the most 💕 FIGHTING, PAULA! ✨
